Funeral Services for Joseph Marion Bowman, 78, Moscow, were held at Wilton Sept. 2. The Rev. G. W. Ukena officiated and burial was in Oakridge cemetery, West Liberty.
Mr. Bowman died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Aug. 31, following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 23, 1892 at San Jose, Calif., the son of Henry and Laura Meeker Bowman.
April 15, 1914 he married Freida Martens at Davenport.
He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ and a retired auto mechanic.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Marion, Tampa, Fla.; Kenneth, Bettendorf; 3 daughters, Mrs. Robert (Thelma Jean) Croissant, and Mrs. John (Bethany) Ervin, Wilton; Mrs. Richard (Carrie) Wessel, East Moline; a brother, Edwin, West Liberty; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 2 sisters.
