John LaMoyne Timm, 84, of Muscatine, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2022, surrounded by his family.

John was born on August 19, 1937, in rural Bennett, Iowa, to Florence M. Schell Timm and John F. Timm.

John graduated from Muscatine High School in 1955. He then attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1959. He married Leah VanDolah in 1962, and they raised two daughters together. He was a member of the English Muscatine Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He worked at GPC as a chemical engineer for 5 years and then became a building contractor, a profession that he truly enjoyed. He later took up renovating homes and apartment buildings. He had a big heart and was known for his generosity. He enjoyed raising horses on their small acreage. He especially loved this three grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his two daughters Deb Streck and Becky (Alan) Rusher, both of Muscatine; his three grandchildren, Ben (Ivy) Rusher of Riverside, Iowa; Gabriel (Shy) Rusher of Moline, Illinois; and Olivia Rusher of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his sister, and two brothers (one in infancy).

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on Saturday, June 25, at 3:00 p.m. There is also the option of attending the service virtually on Zoom. For login information, please contact Becky Rusher at (563) 272-8895.
