Last rites for Howard O. Eckert, 63, were held at West Liberty Dec. 3 with burial with military rites at the National cemetery, Rock Island, Ill.

Mr. Eckert died at Veterans hospital Nov. 30, following an extended illness.

The son of Clem and Grace Boose Eckert, he was born at Lima, Ohio Aug. 2, 1907 and was married to Helena Baker Aug. 21, 1929, in Clinton. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He had been employed for the past 25 years at Lewis-Rich Foods.

Survivors include his wife, 2 sons, Harley, Denver, Colo., and Howard Jr., West Liberty; 3 daughters, Mrs. Nancy Wessell, Davenport; Mrs. Barbara Rudd, Colchester, Ill., and Mrs. June Allen, Wellman, and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
