Final rites for John G. (Jack) Workman, 45, former president of the Wilton school board were held in Muscatine Oct. 12 with burial in the Drury-Reynolds cemetery in Illinois.

Mr. Workman was killed early Oct. 9 when his car went off Highway 38 and struck a bridge abutment 3 miles south of the intersection of Highways 6 and 38. The car plunged into a creek bed and was not discovered until 10 a.m. Oct. 9.

Mrs. Workman received severe head and internal injuries in the accident. She is in University hospitals at Iowa City.

The Workmans had been bowling in Muscatine, then went to a restaurant and were on their way to Wilton when the crash took place.

Mr. Workman was employed as an electrician at Holly Electric, Muscatine.

Born in Illinois July 29, 1925, he was married to Nina Landon at South Mills, N.C., July 8, 1944. He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. James (Connie) Brown, Wilton; 4 sisters, Mrs. Virgil (Lillian) Ross and Mrs. Charles (Betty) Steahr, both of Muscatine; Mrs. Hills (Marion) Croemer, Montpelier, and Mrs. William (Anna) Emmert, Waverly; 4 grandchildren and his father, Albert T. Workman, Muscatine.
