Services for Ellwyn W. (Bill) Cole, 47, Muscatine county deputy sheriff and former Wilton marshal, will be held at 1:30 p.m. today (Oct. 2) at Grace United Church of Christ, Wilton. Burial will be in Oakdale cemetery.

Mr. Cole died at Veterans hospital, Iowa City, Sept. 29, following a 2 months illness.

Mr. Cole was born at Grand Mound. He married Bernice Binke at Wilton in 1945. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Cole was Muscatine county deputy sheriff for 4 years. Prior to that he had been marshal in Wilton for 5 years.

Mr. Cole is survived by 2 sons, William and Stanley, and 2 daughters, Sondra and Beth Ann, all at home; 4 sisters, Mrs. Herman (Elizabeth) Kroeger, Davenport; Mrs. George (Erna) Finck, Durant; Mrs. Burt (Edna) Stonecipher, Centralia, Ill., and Mrs. Louis (Elsie) Markesen, Winterset, and a brother, Elliott, Durant.
