Mrs. Thelma Viola Barnes, 78, a former resident of Cedar Rapids who was living in Des Moines, died Monday afternoon at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.
Thelma Trautman was born April 9, 1903, at Nichols and married Floyd Barnes on May 24, 1930, at Cedar Falls. He died in 1977. Mrs. Barnes lived in Cedar Rapids many years before moving to Des Moines.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Bernadine Farrow of Des Moines and Mrs. Charlotte Barnett of Blacksburg, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Rose Mohnnsen of Columbus Junction; and six grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Snider Funeral Home, West Liberty, where friends may call after 1 p.m. today. Burial: Nichols Cemetery.
