Elias Adams, 84, of West Liberty, Called in Death

West Liberty – Funeral services for Elias William Adams, 84, whose death occurred at 11:45 p.m. Friday at the Hawker Nursing Home, will be conducted at 11 p.m. Sunday at the Snider Funeral Home. The Rev. David Schaeffer will have charge. Burial will be at the Nichols cemetery.
Mr. Adams, whose home was at 209 East Sixth street, West Liberty, died of a stroke suffered Thursday.
The son of Elias and Martha Stafford Adams, he was born at Adams Station, which was a settlement founded by his father east of Nichols. He was married to Lizzie Mills and her death occurred in 1899. His marriage to Mary A. Coffey took place Dec. 27, 1916.
Survivors include his wife; two step-sons, Arlie Coffey, at home, and Carl Coffey, Buda, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Hester Ryan, Nichols; a foster daughter, Mrs. Charles Evans, Walcott; and three foster grandchildren. Also reared in Mr. Adams’ home were Dr. William Adams, Chicago; Mrs. Erma Mosher, Ontario, Calif.; and Mrs. Marie Borgstadt, Nichols.
Preceding him in death were three brothers, two half-brothers and four half-sisters.

Elias. W. Adams Rites Are Held

West Liberty – Funeral services for Elias W. Adams, of West Liberty, were held Sunday afternoon at the Snider Funeral Home. The Rev. David Shaeffer officiated. Burial was in the Nichols cemetery.
Mrs. Frank Mills and Mrs. Doris Whitlock were vocalists, with Mrs. Walter Elder at the organ.
Pallbearers were Richard Peters, Lou Brown, Fred Mills, Floyd Kirchner, Robert K. Brooke, and Frank Hollenbeck.
