Funeral services for Raymond Shetler, 76, retired West Liberty farmer, were held April 27 at West Liberty, with the Rev. Harland Gant officiating. Burial was at Oakridge cemetery.

Mr. Shetler died April 25 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following an illness of a month.

Mr. Shetler was born April 13, 1892, at Atalissa, the son of Simon and Mary Swigart Shetler. He was married to Alice McAnulty in Muscatine July 25, 1923.

Mr. and Mrs. Shetler farmed for 45 years south of Atalissa, moving to West Liberty in January.

He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Masonic Lodge at West Liberty.

Surviving are the widow; a son, Louis Shetler, Rural Atalissa; 3 sisters, Mrs. Fred Devore, Mrs. Myrtle Cassidy and Mrs. May Williams, all of West Liberty; and 3 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
