Funeral services for Henry J. Schneider, 59, West Liberty farmer, were held Oct. 3 at West Liberty with the Rev. Elmer Baker of the West Liberty Christian church officiating. Burial was in the Oakridge cemetery at West Liberty.

Schneider died Oct. 1 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, following a brief illness.

Mr. Schneider was born in West Liberty Nov. 7, 1907, the son of Fred and Minnie DeMean Schneider Sr. A farmer, he resided in the West Liberty area all his life.

Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Jeanne Kleppe, Bennett, Mrs. Joyce Lund, Davenport and Mrs. Janice Mezerra, Mukwonago, Wis.; a son, Douglas, Tipton; 6 sisters, Mrs. Elma Heick, Mrs. Mable Jensen and Mrs. Emma Biermann, all of West Liberty, Mrs. Minnie Shrader and Mrs. Agnes Kortum, Tipton, and Mrs. Mary Lamock, Davenport; 5 brothers, John, George, William, LeRoy and Fred, all of West Liberty, and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
