Final rites for Mrs. Fritz (Sadie) Belter, 69, were held Sept. 23 at Durant with the Rev. Fred Boyce of Zion Lutheran church officiating, with burial in the Durant cemetery.

Mrs. Belter died Sept. 21 at her home in Durant, following a brief illness.

She was born July 3, 1898 near Stockton, the daughter of J. H. and Matilda Schlapkohl. She had lived at Durant 6 months.

Mrs. Belter married Fritz Belter Aug. 14, 1929 at Davenport. She was a 48-year member of Stockton Camp, Royal Neighbors of America, and the wife of a former Muscatine county supervisor. She and her husband farmed near Stockton and New Era until 1953. They lived in Muscatine until moving to Durant a few months ago.

Surviving are her husband, Fritz; 2 daughters, Mrs. Daniel (Lorna) Welk, Muscatine and Mrs. Kenneth (Marcia) Smalley, Iowa City; a brother, Edwin, Pine River, Minn.; a sister, Alma Schlapkohl, West Liberty and 6 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
