Funeral services for Mrs. Charles E. Burroughs, 73, Muscatine, were held July 30 at Muscatine with the Rev. Chris Von Holten officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion cemetery near Tipton.

Mrs. Burroughs died at 8:50 p.m. July 27 at Muscatine General hospital following an extended illness.

Anna E., daughter of John and Rosey Adams Burrows, was born at Rochester April 9, 1893 and spent most of her life in Muscatine.

Anna Burrows married Charles E. Burroughs, Dec. 24, 1909 at Tipton. She was of the Methodist faith.

She had been employed at the Muscatine high school and at Central junior high.

Her husband, Charles, survives. Other survivors include 2 sons, Charles W. and Frank D. Burroughs, both of Muscatine; 4 daughters, Mrs. W. Scott (Frances) Frye, Muscatine; Mrs. Robert (Sadie) Dietz, Davenport; Mrs. Lawain (Dixie Lee) Goodwin and Mrs. Dean (Loretta) Williams, both of Letts; one brother, William Burrows, Muscatine; 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 daughters, 3 sons, 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
