WASHINGTON-Bill Hansford, 81, of Washington, formerly Letts, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at his home in Washington. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine. Burial will be in the Island Cemetery. Following the committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Fruitland Baptist Church. Visitation for Bill will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Fruitland Baptist Church in memory of Bill. Billy Mike Hansford was born on July 13, 1939, in Mountain View, Missouri, the son of Ferrell E. and Allegra J. (Wilson) Hansford. On September 26, 1959, Bill was united in marriage to Zelpha M. Hunt in Muscatine. Bill owned and operated Hansford Construction from 1961 - 2001. He was a member of the Fruitland Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed cutting wood, woodworking and was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan, but most of all, he dearly loved to spend time with his family.

Bill will be deeply missed by the love of his life, Zelpha Hansford of Washington; his children, Lonny F. (Carrie) Hansford of Letts, Matthew N. (Donna) Hansford of Letts and Lynn A. (Paul) Horak of Washington; seven grandchildren, Amber Hansford, Autumn (Joe) Harris, Jory Hansford, Mary Kate (Nate) Horak, Owen Horak, Claire Horak and Devin Hansford; three great grandchildren, Emma, Eleanor and Elisabeth Harris and two sisters, Mona F. (Robert) Anderson of Muscatine and Dorothy F. Franklin of Muscatine.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Cleta A. (Glen) Anderson and brother-in-law, Marvin Franklin.
