Charles N. Rickerson, 86, former resident of Davenport, who has made his home here the past year, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday in Bellevue hospital, following a two weeks illness, with complications. His home was at 103 1/2 East Front street.
Mr. Rickerson was born in 1860 in Waynesville, Mo., and was married twice, first time to Nora Hooper and later to Clara Schumacher in 1924 in Davenport. He was a retired railroad employee, who had formerly worked with the Rock Island line.
Both wives preceded him in death. He is survived by three sons, Oscar F., of Muscatine, Elmer of Amboy, N.M., and Donald D. of St. Louis, Mo., one daughter, Mrs. Bertha L. Schumacher of Davenport; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Two brothers had preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home, with the Rev. M.L. Van Wagenen, pastor of First Congregational church in charge. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. The body is at the funeral home.
