Benjamin C. Martin, 73, Moscow, died June 9 at 1511 Fulliam Avenue, Muscatine, after an extended illness.
Rites were June 12 at Muscatine. The Rev. Leland Enke officiated. Burial was in the Harker cemetery.
A son of W. E. and Adelaide McClean Martin, he was born July 26, 1892 at Wilton Junction. He was a life resident of Muscatine county.
His marriage to Amanda Pace took place July 22, 1914, at Sweetland. He was a member of the Sweetland Methodist church.
Surviving are his wife, at home; 2 daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Neipert, West Liberty and Mrs. James (Alice) Valett, San Bernardino, Calif.; 2 brothers, Joseph S. Martin, Tipton and P. W. Martin, Muscatine; 2 sisters, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Paul and Mrs. Elizabeth Carter, both of Muscatine; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A brother, a grandchild and a great-grandchild preceded him in death.
