Harriet Watkins Succumbs After Lengthy Illness

Mrs. Harriet Watkins, rural route 6, died at Bellevue hospital at 6 a.m. today, following an extended illness.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hall, she was born in Manton, Mich., July 24, 1860. She had been a resident of Muscatine for about 75 years. She was married to Charles Watkins who preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Dwight Watkins of Milan and Russel Watkins of Rock Island; three daughters, Mrs. Frank Redman, Muscatine, Mrs. James Oostendorp, Nichols and Mrs. Verna Davis, Chicago; one sister, Amanda Ward, Manton, Mich.,; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and three sons.
The body is at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. A. R. Iavicoli will officiate. Burial will be in the Watkins cemetery in Nichols.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p. m. today at the Fairbanks chapel for Mrs. Harriet Watkins whose death occurred at Bellevue hospital. The Rev. A. R. Tavicoli, pastor of the Foursquare church, was in charge.
Burial was in the Watkins cemetery near Nichols.
