Mrs. Joseph G. (Dorothy Irene) McCleary, 53, Muscatine, a native of Tipton, died April 1 at Mercy hospital, Iowa City.

Mrs. McCleary was a life resident of Muscatine. She was born June 10, 1912, at Tipton, the daughter of Charles and Anna Burroughs.

She was married April 21, 1929, at Muscatine, to Joseph G. McCleary, and had owned and operated a fruit and vegetable market and gift shop for many years with her husband.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph G. McCleary; 4 sons, Joe McCleary Jr., Pete McCleary, Thomas McCleary and Richard McCleary, all of Muscatine; 2 brothers, Charles and Frank Burroughs, both of Muscatine; 4 sisters, Mrs. Scott Frye, Muscatine, Mrs. Robert Dietz, Davenport, Mrs. Lawain Goodwin, Nichols and Mrs. Dean Williams, Houston, Texas; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burroughs of Muscatine; and 16 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
