Theodore Hazen, Retired Farmer, Goes In Death

Theodore J. Hazen, 69, retired farmer and former resident of the Nichols community, died at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday in a local doctor’s office. His home address was 429 Pond street.
The son of Albert and Veronica Kafring Hazen, her was born Oct. 30, 1881, in Nichols. He married Hattie Reynolds Feb. 10, 1904, in Nichols. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic church at Nichols. He had resided in Nichols until moving to Muscatine about a year and a half ago.
Surviving are his wife; one son, Robert A. Hazen, Muscatine; two brothers, Oliver Hazen of Muscatine and Cleve Hazen of Nichols; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Willits of Letts; and three grandchildren. His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral rites will be held at the Fairbanks chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. J. J. Schoenfelder, pastor of St. Mary’s church in charge. Burial will be in St. Mary’s cemetery. The body is at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals.
