Mrs. Alvin (JoAnn) Jarvis, 36, West Liberty, died Jan. 30 at 3:30 p.m. at Mercy hospital in Iowa City of a lingering illness.
The daughter of Ernest and Dorothy Belter Otto, she was born Nov. 11, 1929 at Durant. She was a member of the Cedar Valley Methodist church.
She married Alvin Jarvis Aug. 8, 1948 at Davenport. Mrs. Jarvis was a member of the Stockton Royal Neighbors of America, and a past Chief of Pythian Sisters. She attended the State College of Iowa at Cedar Falls, and taught in the Durant and Walcott schools for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin Jarvis, her parents, a daughter, Jacquelyn; 2 sisters, Mrs. Gene Lambert, Durant and Mrs. Leota Jost, Marion.
Funeral services were held Feb. 2 at the West Liberty Methodist church with Rev. Harland T. Gant and Rev. Marvin Ceynar officiating. Interment was at Oakridge cemetery.
