Scott A. Havel, 51, of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020, at his home.

Cremation rites were accorded in the care Nichols Bewley Funeral and Cremation Services. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, at Greenwood Cemetery. Ralph Jeamby will officiate.

Due to COVID-19 requirements, attendance limits and social distancing requirements will be observed. For your safety and that of the family and vulnerable attendees, please wear an appropriate mask/face-covering.

Scott was born January 23, 1969, in Naples, Italy, the son of Richard and Linda Blake Havel.

Scott graduated from Muscatine High School in 1988. He was in track and on the swim team all through high school.

In recent years, Scott worked as a mechanic at B&K Cycles. For many years he was a machinist and a welder at Lewis Brothers in Muscatine.

Scott loved and cherished his children, Randy and Emmalee. He built them a small antique Fordson Tractor. It won many awards in many parades. He enjoyed taking his dogs, Apollo and Daisey, for car rides. Scott enjoyed going to the Old Threshers Reunion, small engine shows and participating in the Rendezvous at Wild Cat Den. He enjoyed rebuilding old tractors. Scott always enjoyed working, building and repairing things ever since childhood.

Scott was a friend to everyone.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his parents, Richard and Linda Havel; his brother, William Havel; his children, Randy and Emmalee Havel; his new granddaughter, Gwendolyn Kilburn; his uncles, Robert (Diane) Havel, Raymond Anson, Gary (Bonnie) Blake and Don Blake; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Wilbur and Evelyn (Day) Havel; his maternal grandparents, Harold W. and Betty M. (Preston) Blake; his aunts, Donna Edwards and Judy Anson; and his cousins, Jimmy Blake, Steven Blake, Julie Ehlers and Mitchel Martin.
