Tomasa Quintana, 71, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at the Columbus City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollebaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Columbus Junction. Tomasa Melendez was born on February 23, 1949, in Vieques, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Pedro Melendez Huggins and Saturnina Fuentes Torrez. Tomasa was united in marriage to Alberto Marcial Quintana Chirrino in Muscatine. She worked at Tyson’s in Columbus Junction before retiring. Tomasa was a member of the United Methodist Church in Columbus Junction. She enjoyed going to church, baking, cooking, traveling, working on her garden and taking care of her family.

Tomasa will be deeply missed by her daughter, Sandra (Fabian) Nieto of Grandview; granddaughters, Jennifer and Nancy; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; siblings in Puerto Rico and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son, Alejandro De Jesus.
