BROOKHART, JOSEPH R.

WEST LIBERTY – Joseph Ralph Brookhart, 92, of Rt. 2, West Liberty, died at his home at 9 p.m. Friday.
The son of Peter and Matilda Fry Brookhart, he was born Dec. 12, 1873 at Letts. He was a retired farmer and had been a resident of West Liberty for 45 years. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Anna Foley, who he married on Sept. 28, 1921 at Iowa City. His first wife, the former Katherine Dean, preceded him in death.
One son, Edmund Brookhart of West Liberty, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic church. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Snider funeral home.
Interment will be at St. Mary’s cemetery at Nichols.[

WEST LIBERTY – Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph’s Catholic church, West Liberty, for Joseph Ralph Brookhart, 92, with Father J. J. Fath officiating.
Pallbearers were Wayne Walker, Clyde Hudacek, Larry Burns, Ralph Pelzer, Joe Ryan, and John Ponce. Interment was at St. Mary’s cemetery at Nichols.
Mr. Brookhart died Friday night at his home.
