IOWA CITY, Iowa--Daryle L. Finley, 68, of Iowa City, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, November 15, 2012, following a lengthy illness.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012, at the Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Avenue in Iowa City, with a time of remembrance to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Daryle Finley Memorial Fund.

Daryle was born on August 8, 1944, in Lone Tree, the son of Robert and Esther Brenneman Finley.

He was a graduate of Lone Tree High School and later went on to serve in the United States Army Reserve.

On October 12, 1974, Daryle was married to Norma Greazel in Iowa City.

Daryle worked for Terra Chemical Plant in Muscatine, for a number of years, worked in real estate, farmed throughout his life and started Instant Green Lawn Care Service in the mid 1980's.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and truly loved the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Norma Finley of Iowa City; two sons, Matt Finley and wife, Amy, and their daughters, Ava and Addison, all of West Branch, and Mark Finley of Iowa City; two sisters, Carol Morris of Muscatine, and Sherry Pearson and husband, Bob, of Springdale; a brother, Gary Finley and wife, Sandy, of Davenport; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Jerry Morris; and several aunts and uncles.
