Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today at the Watkins cemetery near Nichols for Dr. Albert B. Ames, 87, who died at Chicago. Rev. Lewis Furda officiated. Services were held earlier at Chicago.

Dr. Ames was a native of the Nichols area, the son of Silas and Josephine Horton Ames. He was a Spanish-American War veteran, and had been a dentist in Chicago for 25 years.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews at Des Moines and Fort Madison.

The Fairbanks home for funerals was in charge of local arrangements.
