ERMA M. VANCE
AUSTIN, Texas - Erma Magdaline Vance, 99, formerly of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2020.

Erma was born on June 27, 1920, in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Dora Volkl Markin. Online condolences may be sent to www.wittichfuneralhome.com .

Erma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. As a devout Catholic, her warm smile and generous spirit would brighten anyone's day.

Those left to honor her memory include her sister, Mary Bermel (John); two daughters, Jane Newman (Jerry) and Judy Vance; two step children, Kenny and Gary Vance; two grandchildren, Jason Newman (Errin) and Jeremy Newman; and four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Newman, Benjamin Newman, Christopher Newman, and Alyssa Newman.

She was preceded in death by her mother; her husband, James Vance; her siblings, Millie Fletcher, Raymond Markin (Kay), Leonard Markin (Genie), Edward Markin, Lester Markin, and Donald Markin; and her son-in-law, David Shaffell.
