Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Baker, 81, a lifetime resident of Atalissa, were held May 2 at the Atalissa Presbyterian church with burial in the West Liberty cemetery.

Mrs. Baker died at a West Liberty nursing home after suffering a broken hip.

Mrs. Baker was born Nov. 25, 1880, in the Peedee community of Cedar county, the daughter of Nathan and Martha Burnett. She was married to Edward M. Baker Nov. 10, 1898, at Atalissa. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Baker was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are 2 sons, Harland, West Liberty and Dewey, Omaha, Neb.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Robshaw, Council Bluffs; Mrs. Ethel Schacht, Durant and Mrs. Gladys Mathas, Cedar Falls; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Pearson, West Branch; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
