Services were held Dec. 12 at West Liberty for Paul Anderson, 75, city marshal of West Liberty for 30 years, with the Rev. Robert Reynolds in charge. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mr. Anderson died Dec. 10 at his home in West Liberty.

He was born Aug. 4, 1888, in Rock Island, Ill., and lived as a child on a farm near South Prairie. He was graduated from the West Liberty high school and was employed in a clothing store for a time. He went to Alberta, Canada, in 1918 where he was a wheat farmer for 10 years, returning to West Liberty in 1928.

He was a 50-year Mason and a member of the Presbyterian church and the Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elsie Whitacre, whom he married in 1913; 2 sons, Maurice, Ottumwa, and Jerald, Minneapolis, Minn.; a sister, Nettie, Ojia, Calif., and 2 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
