Funeral services for Walter Franklin Ballenger, 53, were held Nov. 4 at Muscatine. Burial was at Overman cemetery at Atalissa. Pallbearers were Curtis and Vernon Werling, Donald Passmore, Hubert Hepker, Bearl Pallett and Mark McKillip.

Mrs. Bearl Pallett and Mrs. Katherine Seddith had charge of flowers.

Mr. Ballenger died at noon Nov. 2 at University hospital, Iowa City, after an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife, 2 sons, Daryl, Wheatland and Ronald, Wilton Junction; 2 daughters, Mrs. Allen Ball, Tipton and Frances Ballenger, Muscatine; 4 brothers, William and Chester, Muscatine; Marion, Quincy, Ill. and Otis, Milan, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. John Becks, Quincy, Ill., his mother, Mrs. Frances Ballenger, Quincy, Ill., 7 grandchildren; a step-son, Kenneth C. Wilson, Des Moines; 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Donald Thompson, Des Moines and Mrs. Richard Romine, Polk City and 9 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and 3 sisters.
