Funeral services were held at West Liberty Oct. 2 for David Guthrie, 30, a native of West Liberty. Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.

Mr. Guthrie died Sept. 25 at Fontana, Calif., where he was a teacher. He had taught in the West Liberty school for 4 years and had left West Liberty this summer.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Guthrie, he was born in West Liberty March 6, 1931, attended the West Liberty schools and graduated from the University of Iowa. He served in the navy.

He is survived by his wife, his parents, and 2 daughters.
