Mrs. Julianna Hoffman, 79, wife of Herman Hoffman, 917 Cypress street, died at 1:30 o'clock this morning following an illness of three years. Her death came directly as the result of a paralytic stroke suffered Labor day.
She was born in Schmeigel Prussia, in 1844, coming to Muscatine in 1869 and marrying Mr. Hoffman in that year. They have resided in Muscatine since that time.
Besides her husband, four sons survive. They are Herman, John and Albert of Muscatine and Otto, of Columbus Junction.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The Rev. F.L. Rodenbeck, pastor of the Protestant Episcopal church will officiate. Burial will be made in Greenwood cemetery.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
