Harold Hubbard Rites Will Be Held on Tuesday
Harold Smith Hubbard, 41, who resided at 1210 Kansas street, was found dead back of the sheds on the Rosch and Musser factory property early Sunday afternoon. Members of his family said he had left home at 10 a.m. Sunday.
No inquest was held. coroner W.S. Norton announcing that death was due to natural causes. Police were notified about 3:30 p.m. that the dead man's body had been found. Harold E. Wooeds, 616 Demorest avenue, told police that he had seen Hubbard about 1 p.m., and that he appeared to have been drinking heavily. About two hours later, a group of several other men who had gone over to investigate his condition discovered him to be dead, and authorities were immediately summoned.
Mr. Hubbard had spent his entire life in Muscatine. He was born Oct. 12, 1897, the son of John L. Hubbard and Martha Lindsey Hubbard. Surviving are his parents, a brother, Arnold Hubbard and a sister, Mrs. Helen Bailey, of Detroit, Mich. A sister, Miss Lula Hubbard, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at the Fairbanks Home for Funerals at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with Dr. L.L. Weis, pastor of the First Methodist church, in charge. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home until services are held.
