ELMER HYSELL DIES.
Succumbs to Typhoid Fever After An Illness of Fourteen Weeks.
Last night at 8:20 o'clock occurred the death of Elmer Hysell, at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Hysell, 495 West Fourth street, of typhoid fever. The deceased had been confined to his bed for fourteen weeks and suffered intensely during most of that time, but bore his affliction manfully, very few complaining words escaping his lips and until Tuesday noon when he became unconscious, spoke cheerfully and encouragingly. But brave as he was he could not successfully combat the ravages of the disease and after lying unconscious for over forty-eight hours passed peacefully to the world beyond.
Elmer Hysell [w]as an energetic young man, popular with all those he came in contact with. He had attained the age of 19 years, 1 month and 24 days and had resided in Muscatine for over fifteen years. He leaves to mourn his demise, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Hysell, seven sisters and two brothers, who are, Mrs. Alberta Moriarity, Mrs. Carrie Nestlebush, Mrs. H.A. Manhardt, Florence, Bessie, Elsie, Waunatta, Willie and Armie.
The funeral will be held from the late residence Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. J.N. Elliott of the First Presbyterian church having charge of the services.
