Funeral services for Ed Baker of Atalissa, 84, who died Feb. 26 in a Wilton Junction nursing home, were held March 1 in West Liberty. Burial was in the Oakridge cemetery.
Mr. Baker was born in Johnson county Jan. 31, 1877, the son of John and Anna Sentmann Baker. He was married to Elizabeth Burnett Nov. 16, 1898.
A retired farmer, Mr. Baker had lived in the Atalissa area for 60 years. He was a past master of the Masonic lodge at Atalissa.
Surviving are his wife; 2 sons, Harlan, Atalissa and Billy, Omaha, Neb.; 3 daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Robshaw, Council Bluffs; Mrs. Ethel Schacht, Durant, and Mrs. Gladys Mathis, Cedar Falls; a brother, Burt, Atalissa, a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Rettenmeyer, Iowa City; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
