Mrs. Louella Appleman, 64, of Atalissa, died at an Iowa City hospital Saturday of injuries suffered in an auto accident a week ago.

Mrs. Appleman and her husband Edmund, 64, were in a car which ran into a bridge on highway 6 near Wilton Junction. Her husband had only minor injuries but Mrs. Appleman suffered fractures of the upper and lower jaw, ankle, leg and knee cap and general lacerations.

Funeral services were held Monday at Wilton Junction, with Gordon Smith in charge of services. Burial was at Timberlake cemetery at Atalissa.

Luella Stahl was born March 15, 1892, at Chester, Ohio, and was married to Mathias E. Appleman Dec. 24, 1919, at Cedar Rapids. She had lived in Atalissa for 25 years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a brother, Paul Stahl, Davenport.
