Henry Korte Dies Suddenly At Home

Heart Failure is Cause of His Death -- Had Been Sick For a Very Short Time and Death Was Entirely Unexpected

Harry Korte, 512 West Fifth street died suddenly in his bed at 3 o’clock this morning. While his health had been poor for some time, death was very unexpected. Heart failure is given as the cause of the demise.

He retired as usual last night but about 3 o’clock this morning one of the family heard his gasping and before the relative had reached the bedside, Mr. Korte had passed beyond.

Henry Korte was a native of Muscatine, having been born here on May 7, 1868. His entire life was spent in Muscatine, and he was educated at the St. Mary’s Catholic church, and socially was a member of Laurent Council, Knights of Columbus. He had also been associated for years with the Muscatine Fire Department, being a member of the Champion Hook & Ladder company.

Besides his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Korte, there live to survive him two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Binhug and Miss Gertrude Korte, and two brothers, Adam and Bernard.

The funeral was announced this morning, for Monday morning at 9 o’clock from St. Mary’s church, Rev. J. I. Grieser having charge. Interment will be made in St Mary’s cemetery.
