Old Resident of City Passes Away - Mrs. Caroline Miller Succumbs After Illness. - Deceased Was Resident of City for Half Century and Was Well and Favorably known.
Mrs. Caroline Miller, aged 81 years, a well known and highly respected resident of Muscatine passed away at the home of her grand daughter Mrs. A. B. Fuller, 216 East Sixth street, Saturday night after an illness of about three months. The cause of her death was old age and attendant complications.
Mrs. Miller was an old resident of this city, having resided here for nearly fifty years and here death will be received with great sorrow by her many friends in this vicinity.
She was an earnest church worker and religiously was affiliated with the German Evangelical church and a member of the Ladies Aid society of that church.
By special request of the deceased, her friends are requested not to bring flowers.
Born in Germany
Mrs. Miller was born in Westphalen, Germany, May 22, 1827. She came to America in 1852 and settled at St. Louis. She was united in marriage at that place to Fred Miller and left for Muscatine the same year, where she has resided since. She was preceded in death by her husband who passed away in in 1898. She is survived by two sons, George of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Louis, of New Castle, Indiana. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Arrangements
The funeral services of the late Mrs. Caroline Miller will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock from the German Evangelical church, Rev. J. J. Jans officiating.
