Woman Accused of Murder.
Mrs. Mary Rose of Muscatine has been arrested at Peoria, charged with the murder of Miss Bertha Meintz, a pretty seventeen-year-old girl of Muscatine, whose body was found floating in the Mississippi, The body was found lying on a sand bar and showed traces of foul play, the throat being cut and the head crushed. . Mrs. Rose claims the girl was kicked in the head by a mule and that she was afraid to tell the authorities.
