Julius Sindt, 80, died at his home in West Liberty Monday afternoon after a lingering illness.
He was born Nov. 16, 1876, in Krokan, Germany, a son of John and Anna Rauer Sindt. He came to this country in 1893 and was married to Agnes Schroeder at Tipton, Dec. 11, 1901.
Mr. Sindt farmed near Wilton Junction and Atalissa before retiring and coming to West Liberty in 1945.
He was a member of the Lutheran church and the Odd Fellows lodge.
Survivors include his widow; a son, Leroy, West Liberty; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Bailey, West Liberty; three sisters, Mrs. Charles Staack and Mrs. Meta Hicks, both of Wilton Junction, and Mrs. George Daggs, Davenport; and three brothers, John, Durant, Ben, Muscatine, and Richard, in Germany.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday with the Rev. A. H. Geske officiating. Burial was in Oakridge cemetery.
