PETER AYRES DEAD; LIVED ALL HIS LIFE IN WILTON VICINITY

Wilton, Ia., July 2 – Peter Ayres, age 68, life long resident of this vicinity, died suddenly at 10:06 Wednesday evening of a heart seizure that had begun 10 minutes before. He had been in poor health since last fall from angina pectoris. He was born on a Cedar county farm seven miles north of Wilton, Feb. 27, 1857, and resided there until eight years ago when he retired and moved with his family to Wilton. He was married to Miss Mary Daut on Feb. 6, 1880, and the widow and these three daughters survive: Mrs. F. Jordan, Tipton, Ia.; Mrs. Rudolph Sibelien, Wilton, Ia., and Mrs. Paul Wacker, Davenport. Four grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters are living: L. N., and H. B. Ayres, both of Wilton; Mrs. O. V. Kenniston, Butte, Neb.; Mrs. William McCroskey, Wilton. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Note: Burial records in Moneka Cemetery, Inland Twp., Cedar County, IA spell the name as Ayers.
