Moses I. Adams was born in Johnson, Indiana, May 1, 1842, and died at the H. W. Smith home, at Adams, Iowa, Jan. 14, 1919, aged 76 years, 8 months, 14 days, where he had resided for thirty-six years.
In 1862 he was united in marriage to Mary E. Renshaw. To this union was born six children, two passing away in infancy, and Albert, Allen, Cora and Hattie all passed away within two weeks from diphtheria, in 1880. Hi wife preceded him in death, March 12, 1905. He leaves one sister, Mrs. Martha Ruthrauff, of Clinton, Iowa. Uncle Mose, as he was called by every one who knew him, was a loving friend and neighbor. He had been a patient sufferer from a complication of diseases for the last seven months.
The funeral services were held from the old home Thursday, January 16, conducted by Rev. H. C. Millice, attended by a number of old friends and neighbors. His burial was in the Nichols cemetery.
