Cornelius Connell, 76, a resident of Muscatine most of his life, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E. R. Bloomer, at Davenport Sunday morning at 10 o'clock after an illness with advanced age and a complication of ailments.

Cornelius Connell was born in County Cork, Ireland, June 20, 1852. He came to this country when a young man and had made Muscatine his home since that time. He married Miss Mary Ann Moran June 21, 1875. She died Jan. 8, 1928.

Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Dean of West Branch, Mrs. T. L. McGee and Mrs. E. R. Boomer of Davenport, Mrs. J. R. Collins and Mrs. W. R. Mathis of Muscatine; two sons, John W. Connell of Dubuque and Edward Connell of Detroit, Mich., 20 grandchildren. Two daughters and two sons preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's church, Muscatine, conducted by the Rev. Father W. L. Hannon. Burial was in St. Mary's cemetery.
