Mrs. A. Marolf Rites Held Tuesday in Wilton
Wilton - Services for Mrs. Anna Maria Marolf, 97, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Griffith funeral home. The Rev. Luther Meyer, of Atalissa Zion Lutheran officiated. Burial at Oakdale cemetery.
Mrs. Marolf died Saturday in Bellevue hospital at Muscatine after a three-year illness. She was born in Switzerland, Jan. 18, 1855, and came to the United States as a young woman. She married John C. Marolf June 6, 1883, at Muscatine. He died in 1936.
The couple farmed in Moscow township for about 50 years. Mrs. Marolf was a member of the Zion Lutheran church of Atalissa. She lived with her daughter, Mrs. Louis Hammerich after her husband's death.
Survivors: three sons, John L. of Muscatine, and William I. and Arthur E, both of Moscow; 2 daughters, Mrs. Rose Weiss of Atalissa, and Mrs. Hammerich; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
