WILLIAM E. PHILLIPS

William Edward (Kaliper) Phillips, 76, died at 7 a.m. today at his home at 704 Division St. Death was attributed to a sudden heart attack.
A life resident of Muscatine, Mr. Phillips was born Sept. 18, 1884, the son of Calvin and Cynthia Lanfier Phillips. He was employed as a button cutter.
He was married Sept. 19, 1906, In Muscatine, to Opal Martin.
Survivors include his .wife, Mrs. Opal Phillips; two sons,. Russell Phillips of Stephenville, Texas, and Kenneth Phillips of San Bernardino, Calif.; two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, one brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be he-Id at 2 p.m. Thursday at the George M. Wittich funeral home. Interment will be at Greenwood cemetery.
