Frank A. Wilson, age 77, of Muscatine, died Saturday, December 9, 2000 at Unity Hospital in Muscatine.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 12, 2000 at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home with the Rev. Lloyd Mansfield officiating. Burial has been at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Glen Kurz, Paul Reeb, Clyde Evans, Jim Jensen, Marvin Hinrich and Cecil Vandygriff. Memorials may be directed to the Church of Christ.
Mr. Wilson was born November 22, 1923 in Cedar County, Iowa, the son of Henry and Flora (Collison) Wilson. He graduated from Wilton High School and served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force from 1943 – 1945. On September 21, 1945, Frank was unite in marriage to Virginia Martin in Iowa City. He was a lifelong resident of the Muscatine area, a member of the Church of Christ and retired from working at John Deere after 33 years of service in 1980. Frank enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and traveling.
Survivors include his wife Virginia of Muscatine; one daughter, Judy McAreavy and her husband John of Muscatine; two sons, Marvin Wilson and his wife Toni of Nichols, and Roger Wilson and his wife LuAnn of Muscatine. Six grandchildren also survive: Thomas Wilson, Tandi Blake, Mark Wilson, Jason McAreavy, Josh McAeavy and Johnny McAreavy; three great grandchildren: Zach Wilson, Alex Wilson and Clay Blake. Three sisters survive: Beverly Lenseth of Wilton, Gloria Norbery of Orange, California, and Karen Hart of Wilton: three brothers: Robert Wilson of Chicopee Falls, Massachusetts, Arland Wilson of Davenport, and Marvin Wilson of Hollywood, Florida; and two half brothers: Lyle Oveson of Arizona and Lynn Oveson of Florida.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
