Mr. Harold R. Neipert, 76, of Wilton, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 1996, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, in Davenport.
Mr. Neipert was born January 19,1920 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Chester and Myrtle Metzger Neipert. On June 28, 1942, he married Lucille Gerdts at Kahoka, MO. He was a member of the Muscatine Moose Lodge, and an Army Veteran of World War II. He retired after working for 31 years as a shippping clerk for John Deere Plow and Planter Division. He loved to hunt and fish, raise rabbits, feed the birds, work in his garden and he especially enjoyed farming and playing pool.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; five sons, Gregory Neipert of Davenport, Dennis Neipert of Moscow, John Neipert of Wapello, Bill Neipert of Muscatine, and Dave Neipert of Tipton; two daughters, Lou Ann Kerschenske of Muscatine, and Marci Sherwood of Wilton; 18 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a brother, Don Neipert of Wilton; and three sisters, Gertrude Kaalberg of Muscatine, Ruth Stachar of Muscatine and Marilyn Ruckles of Muscatine. e was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 23, 1996, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home in Muscatine. Burial was in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery Community Garden Mausoleum. A general memorial fund has been established for the family.
Pallbearers were Ryan Neipert, Christopher Neipert, Matt Neipert, Nicholas Neipert, Brian Neipert and Bryan Neipert. Honorary pallbearers were Jeff Mally, Matt Schnell Rob Sherwood, Marvin Kerschenske.
