Mr. Clarence Feldman, 89, of West Liberty, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, following a short illness.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 31, 2000, at the First Church United, with Rev. Nancy English officiating. Organist was Mildred Gregory. Pallbearers were Adam Feldman, Alan Feldman, Rob Feldman, Andy Feldman, Scott Feldman, Gary Feldman, and Gregory Feldman. Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, West Liberty A memorial fund has been established. Barker Funeral Home, West Liberty, was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Feldman was born July 6, 1911, in West Liberty, the son of William and Hanna Jehle Feldman. He married Betty M. Hatfielde on June 6, 1935, in the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. Clarence lived and farmed in West Liberty all of his life, retiring around 1980. He was a member of the farm Bureau and the South Prairie Grange for many years. He loved fishing, gardening, and enjoyed spending time with his children and grand children.
Survivors include his wife, Betty M. Feldman of West Liberty; two sons, Stanley Feldman of Lone Tree, and Donald Feldman (wife, JeanAnn) Feldman of Atalissa; eleven grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Elmer, Clifford, and Wilfred Feldman; three sisters, Linnie Lenz, Mabel Feldman, and Laura Lenz; a daughter-in-law, Janet Feldman; a grandson, Steven, and a great granddaughter, Melissa.
