Mrs. Billie M. McKillip, age 71, of Atalissa, died Sunday, June 7, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following an extended illness.

She was born July 18, 1920, at Seaton, Illinois, the daughter of William H. and Fern L. Walters Meyers. She graduated from Seaton High School and attended business school in Rock Island. On April 10, 1943, she was married to Lyle G. McKillip at Kahoka, Missouri. Mrs.McKillip had worked for Wuestenberg Insurance in West Liberty and Caldwell Insurance in Iowa City for several years. She later worked for the University of Iowa, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of the Seaton Presbyterian Church in Seaton, Illinois, and the Royal Neighbors of America.

Survivors include her husband, Lyle, of Atalissa; a daughter, Mrs. Janet Bode of Cedar Rapids; one brother, Charles Meyers of Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Haas, Helen Redmond and Audrey Willett, all of Monmouth, Illinois, and a grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Larry; and a brother.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 10, at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Organist was Mrs. Bette Schweer. Pallbearers were Bill Has, Todd Abbott, Bill McKillip, Donald Schlimmer, Keith McKillip and Phil Bode. Honorary pallbearers were Dalton Phillips, Gerald Leggins, Robert Milder, Floyd Bothell and Robert Brooke. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery, Muscatine. A memorial fund has been established.
