Muscatine, Iowa – Richard “Dick” K. Bartenhagen, 55, of 2738 Stewart Road, died Thursday morning, April 21, 1994, at Muscatine General Hospital.

Services will be at 3:30 pm. Sunday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Palbearers will be Jeff Terhune, Steve Spies, Brad Montgomery, George Schmidt, Mitch Bartenhagen and Don Wilson. Burial will be at the Island Cemetery in Fruitland Township, Muscatine County. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home where a memorial has been established.

Mr. Bartenhagen was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Muscatine a son of Richard W. and Alma H. Harder Bartenhagen. He was a life resident of the area. On July 10, 1964, he married Patricia Ann Terhune in Muscatine. He had farmed on the Muscatine Island and surrounding area for most of his life.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Pat; one son, Richard K. “Rick” Bartenhagen Jr. and his wife, Denice, of Muscatine; one daughter, Mrs. Brent (Rebecca) Giberson of Muscatine; one brother, Bill Bartenhagen of Muscatine; and two sisters, Mrs. Alwayne (Betty) Spies of Eldridge, and Mrs. George (Janice) Taylor of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
