West Liberty, Iowa – Lowell C. Terhune, 54, died Tuesday morning, July 6, 1993, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City, following an extended illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the West Liberty Chapel of the Barker funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Farmer officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Ridge cemetery in West Liberty. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established.

Mr. Terhune was born Sept. 8, 1938, a son of Herman and Della Chelf Terhune. He graduated from West Liberty High School with the Class of 1957. On Oct. 30, 1960, he married the former Patsy Heick at West Liberty. The couple farmed for many years in the West Liberty area. He was in the Army Reserve.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy; one daughter, Julie Reid of West Liberty; one son, Jeff of West Liberty; his parents, Herman and Della Terhune of Fruitland; two sisters, Janet Montgomery of Rock Island, Ill., and Patricia Bartenhagen of Muscatine; one brother, Albert Terhune of Muscatine; and three grandchildren, Justin, Joshua and McKensey.
