Lee is survived by his wife Louise; son Jeffrey; daughters, Libbie and Teresa; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six great step-grandchildren; brother James Porter of Spokane, Wash.; sisters, Helene Salemink of Nichols, Mary Jane Ruess of West Liberty and Jeanne Maher of Hiawatha, Iowa.

Lee donated his body to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy and Cell Biology for medical research.
