Lilly Rose Schmidt Hoopes

Born April 11, 1895, Mrs. Hoopes died May 17, 1992 in Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Butler Hoopes, her parents, Clara (Irwin) and August Schmidt and her brother Julius, all of Muscatine. On September 3, 1932, she married Mr. Hoopes in Rock Island, Illinois.

Surviving are daughter Jane Robinson of South Bend, IN, and grandchildren Stephen Andrew (Diane) in Fishers, Indiana, Anne Elizabeth in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and David Schuyler in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Mrs. Hoopes attended Muscatine High School and Brown Business College and worked as a bookkeeper for Block Button Company.

She was a long-time member of the Eastern Star chapter and loved family, flowers, and music.

In late May a memorial service was held in the chapel of the Methodist Church, and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
